I just wanted to update everybody with bloom information. Lycoris radiata has completed the bulk of it's blooming for the season, but I've had another resurgence of bloom. Two varieties of L. radiata are common in the trade, and it may be that one is finished with the other beginning. I will try to figure out which is which in the next few weeks. Also, foliage began emerging several days ago.

L. aurea just started blooming today! I hope others are beginning to see the same thing, or already have. I'm in zone 6.

Well folks, here in zone 6b, Lycoris radiata v. radiata is in bloom. A few weeks ago, L. radiata v. pumila was in bloom and is now fat with seed. L. aurea is just now coming into full bloom with several dozen scapes in my small, winter protected/summer shaded, "greenhouse" structure. Scapes are up to 3' high this year. Quite beautiful.
