Aren't they gorgeous? Mine will open bloom any day now, and I can't wait! Also, my Tulipa gregii started just a couple of days ago and are just about in full bloom.

I would recommend the following when moving your Cynthias:

1. As soon as bloom fades, "dead head". That is, remove the flowers so that all energy can go toward beefing up the bulbs.

2. This is not necessary, but provide your tulips with a one time application of high phosphorous liquid fertilizer, usually marketed as for blooming plants, right after bloom. Fish emulsion fertilizer is good, too, if you prefer organic fertilizer.

3. Let the foliage take in sunshine until it dies back by itself, probably sometime in June.

4. You should then be able to move the bulbs immediately to the new location. If you wish to store them and plant in late September/early October, don't dig until late June. The smaller bulbs tend to dessicate in the open air after about 3 months.
