We are a small cut flower farm in north florida (humid zone 9). We easily grow a lot of Lycoris radiata and L. aurea (africana?) Struggle with the other spp I've tried. In Ogden's bulb book he assumes warm soil is the problem. If this is the case, would it be warm growing season soil, warm dormant season soil, or year round? Do the spring leafers (L. sprengeri) need a pulse of cold to be happy? We would love to expand our palette with this plant (and Nerine doesn't seem to be an option) so any advice would be awesome. Cheers! _________________ joe |
