I just got a box full of Crocosmia “Lucifer”. They have a really weird stacking habit; looking like small turds piled on top of each other. The bulbs I have are still all stacked up. Should I leave them connected or pull them all apart into separate bulbs? Should I pull them apart int segments of two or more bulbs? Any suggestions? My theory is, that if I pull each bulb apart, they will multiply more quickly, but might not all bloom this year. Does any one know for sure? I am excited to try these. I wonder if they are close enough to be crossed with Freesia. It would be great to have that same heavenly Freesia scent in the summer time! It might work, although I might have to play pool with their DNA first. Wish me luck! |
